Summary: Highly recommend.
This book is based on material smuggled out of the former Soviet Union by Mitrokhin. A lot of material is covered, but the most striking concept emerging is the decay of Soviet intelligence services. From the NKVD of the 1930s to the KGB of the 1960s and 1970s, the reader witnesses an organization designed to serve the state transformed into an apparatus in service of whoever had the most political clot at the moment. Watchword: bureaucracy.
